If you have a local service like my airline you need to use the gates five or more times a day. Having shared gates is a good way to avoid the penalty for not having enough gates.
I like the idea of increasing the value of the shared gates if several are used at the same time.
Remember to increase the penalty value for using a gate that was not leased. The cost is much lower and in that case it is better to pay the penalty fee. For example a shared gate at LAS costs $5,456.48 and the penalty is $4.000.

I have done this, the penalty for not having a gate is now slightly more than the cost of using a shared gate.

Perhaps the normal cost of using a shared gate is $3800, so 'slightly more' is $4000?

MAD = $5,442.33
In this case is better not having a shared gate there.

Strange, I will have to check it again. It should have been changed.

Okay it should be fixed now. The penalty had been changed but I had hard-coded the financial transaction to display as $4,000. It now displays the actual penalty that you pay.
