I understand what you guys mean but I sure hope that the option to do such unrealistic things remains. I mean, an all IL-62 and IL-86 fleet today is no way feasible in real life but it's fun to do in the game.

At the end of it all, it all depends on where Unk wants to steer this game to. Smile

If you want to be unrealistic - Airline Empires is your place to go. In my opinion, this game is for realism. While having fun is good, I think that realism is highly important.

I mean we are flying VC10s and what not, realism is fun only to a certain degree.

Fair enough - but I think it should be a simulation more, and a game less. That's just my opinion. There aren't any amazing airline simulators out there - there are plenty of games, like Airline Empires, AirwaySim (although that is somewhat more realistic), and stuff like that.

I will copy/paste what I wrote on the issue tracker some time ago:

IMHO it's a balance between having a fun game and making it somewhat realistic at the same time. Is it likely the concorde will fly again? Absolutely not, but it's plausible: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/18/supersonic-breakthrough-concorde-could-fly-again-within-four-years

So if that possibility exists in the real world why not allow players to do it in the game? So long as the aircraft are properly spec'd out so that they don't provide an unfair advantage (like the AN-225 in cyber airlines) I don't see an issue with allowing people to operate historical aircraft. Regarding DC-8s there are several still in service as charter aircraft and cargo aircraft.

You have a point about the VIP aircraft - but is having it in the game hurting anything? Probably needs to be updated with new seat slot numbers so it will work with the IFE system.

The only thing I agree with is that if an aircraft was not ever in service, i.e. experimental aircraft, or if only 1 was ever built, it probably should not be in the game.

Games should be fun, not a direct reflection on the real world. Otherwise there's no point.

Whoa I just got roasted Tongue

Haha I still disagree, but whatever - have your fun - its your game not mine Smile

Meh not roasted just my opinion on things lol

RE: Maybe passengers are sitting on the floor?! - Zortan - 09-10-2018

Haha I understand - I guess we have different opinions - regardless, it's fine - I can still do most of my realistic things without them be properly implemented in-game Smile

Two completely different topics discussed in one thread.

I agree with Unknown on this, although I play by realism. I myself plan to include Concordes in my fleet sometime when my airline can ever start operating at a huge profit. No Ilyushins and Tupolevs for me though Big Grin.
