Never had the privilege of owning a dog, but I did help a friend take care of theirs once. That dog was obedient to the point of being very very boring

You could always get a cat if you want to have a pet in the house that requires basically nothing and is self sufficient lol

I went to someone's house, and they had few cats. I sat in a chair, and a cat sat between my feet, and slept there.

In my neighborhood the cats are wild but spoiled. People feed them so much they all are obviously fat, and they really purposefully look for attention.
