I keep contemplating getting a CDL but so far haven't had a need for it and don't want to pay for it

Thanks everybody, it was a long process (nearly a year) but it was so satisfying to get it done.

Ya, my work payed for it. Part of the reason it took so long since I really never had much formal training, more like grab another driver. So all it cost them really was the fuel (which we get in bulk for other vehicles as well and the gondola) and the actual test cost, $225.

To be honest, my total time with the vehicle was probably was 5 hours if that. Most of it just parking maneuvers. Spent an hour or two with another vehicle that was pretty much useless.

They got classes you can take that'll get you a CDL in like 4 weeks where I live. Maybe 6. I almost feel like that's too quick to learn everything you need to know.
