extra features? - airlinemanage - 10-13-2018

I am not unk, but I wonder what other people want unk to add to the simulation?

I want catering services, alliances, lounge, wet and dry lease, stock market.

RE: extra features? - Carrot - 10-13-2018

I'd like a Wet Lease. Catering isn't there yet but drink service is, so I'd expect it to come. I'd like subsidiaries for different countries. Investments into other carriers are also nice. Also something not directly affecting the game, but being able to see other's route maps would be nice. Seeing all the flights you fly from only 1 airport at a time would also be nice (on the route map).

Guys - there is a list of things that unk is planning on adding - in the game updates section iirc.

But since we're talking on here anyhow about this - I have a big list:
iPad entertainment
IFS (Which is confirmed for the near future, along with political restrictions)
Alliances
Forum alliances
Wet Lease
Dry lease to other airlines
Marketing + Advertising
Different A/C insurance plans
Fuel management
Shared control / Game mentoring (mentoring is from AWS, SC is from AE lol, but both would work)
More seat types (and realistic descriptions of each, with realistic slot numbers)
Production slot model of new a/c deliveries (compare w/ AWS)
Proper written game guide
flight delays
Ability to put a little "about this airline" statement in the airline overview page
Cargo

Probably a ton more I'm forgetting lol I'll update this post when I think of more

RE: extra features? - Dokhu - 10-13-2018

I think it's time for cargo aircraft. The game will become boring if we only buy airplanes and schedule a flight but if we add a little extra work the game will be more interesting. For example: Dokhu Global Transport needs an engine for an A350-1000. The engine can be purchased at the factory that produces it or someone has a repaired motor on its HQ, let's say in Telaviv. Then someone sends a cargo plane to pick up the engine and sends it to Medellin. The aircraft can not be repaired until someone takes the engine and the airline pays the cargo contract. Of course you can send your own cargo aircraft but the idea is to keep people doing different things. In fact we can purchase engines and spare parts and sell them to other airlines.

A little micromanagement will be a good idea to keep people busy.

I agree with Dokhu. An optional mission mode of sorts is going to be fun.

Like, "transport 50,667,877 tons of typhoon relief goods from SFO to HND in a week"

Then add certain conditions like, "HND runway has been damaged, length reduced to 10,000 feet" -This will only affect those who wants to run the missions.

I'm pretty sure there was something like this at CA.

Mind you when your reputation is changing, you should keep changing the price of ALL flights. Even its 100%, you should review the price and the aircraft type to fly the flight regularly. Its actually not simple though it seems to be at the moment.

RE: extra features? - Zortan - 10-14-2018

Although - we don't want this to be CA - regular flights should generally take priority. IRL, charter and cargo charter airlines are quite rare, and quite small generally.

RE: extra features? - Trogdor - 11-20-2018

I'd like to see these

Aircraft range adjusted based on seating capacity (which I believe is coming)

An efficiency penalty for multiple aircraft types. I get that there is a maintenance penalty, but the impact on logistics across the airline is much larger in real life and should have a bigger impact, which would make choosing aircraft types more interesting, especially when we're talking 10+ types

Connecting passengers - at least for one-stop routes. If it has to be done by creating a "technical stop" route as opposed to a "regular" stop that would be fine (and may in fact be a better way to do it)

RE: extra features? - sfk - 11-20-2018

Direct purchase/lease between companies

Seems interesting. Can you elaborate a bit? We do have a fixed family maintenance cost but I'm curious as to what the other costs/impacts would be for operating multiple aircraft families.

I don't work in the industry, I just like planes, so I'm not familiar with some of the more detailed aspects of airline management.
