Loud is the whining thunder over working London, a sound not heard in decades as 4 Rolls Royce Conway engines roar at maximum RPM. The noise is deafening to anyone standing to close, but the magic cannot be denied as nearly half a century old plane climbed into the morning skies. A raised middle finger perhaps to environmentalist, perhaps to much old pride and a longing for the glory days of Empire, but above all a display of endurance a fitting trait for the nation. As the noise started to fade into the distance most people never even realized it had happened to focused on their working day, the news and the ever struggle of a divided nation. However a few people did notice and amongst those where a small number of people standing proudly at Heathrow Airport. Too them this event had been in the making for 5 years and it truly was a dream come true watching a machine they all loved dearly for many different reasons to fly again for the role she was designed for. These where the dozen people of SIGRÚN a small startup airline that had a dream to bring back something they could be proud off and apparently even in dangerous financial times with brexit they had found a bank willing to lend them enough money to get it started. It had seemed that even in the coldest of industries there was still some love and perhaps a desire for some old glory.
"Ground Control this is Victory Rune 001 signing off." Could be heard over the radio. "Victory Rune 001 this is ground control we copy, god speed." and with those simply messages the final notes of the engines faded in the mix of modern turbo fans and props. The 12 people walked off in unison, it might be a bit to early to start drinking, but after the return leg had been complete they would no doubt be joined by the flight crew for celebrations. Despite all the odds a small group of people had managed to launch an airline and not just an airline, but bring back the one plane they all loved the VC10 back into service on the 1 route she would always be the queen off.

Bio: Serena Athrawes hails from and old family who's history has always been bound to the nation and crown. Steep in traditions the family has one of the longest standing naval traditions in the nation with every generation many join the navy and prior to that most members of the family server onboard the schooners operated by the family. These ships from the age of sail are kept around not just as a token, but to show real hardship and hard work to anyone born within the family. Serena like all others has spend her time onboard and even grew to the rank of captain over time. However she choose a slightly different path joining the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal navy where she flew the Harrier Jump Jets for 7 years until she was forced to bail out during a routine flight when the jets engines overheated to destruction. Though she made it out relatively well it did not leave her in perfect shape and as a result she was deemed unfit to continue flying fighter jets. So she made the step over to the RAF where she was trained to fly the Vickers VC10 and it was love on first fight. She had always loved the look the VC10 tankers, but flying them was a whole other experience and far less from a boring dull plane she had feared coming from a Harrier. For 10 more year she continue flying overseeing the flight leaving service with the rank of Wing Commander in 2012. With an excellent service history she started to look towards civilian life and after spending a while onboard the families schooners training a new generation she longed back to flying her beloved VC10s which where now on the point of being scrapped. Managing to convince the scrapped to hold on to them she managed to secure a loan through her family name and together with several of her old friends and service members she managed to buy and restore and refit their first Super VC10 and put it back into the sky as a civilian airliner under the company name SIGRÚN name after an old Valkyrie and also the meaning of the name: Victory Rune.
CFO: Billy Lamoon
Bio: A former navy quarter master Billy's talents had always been with the numbers and a healthy dose of street smarts. Growing up an Orphan in the system he managed to get himself in more than a little trouble in his years until the navy sorted him out right and proper. From there he would start a long career based on making sure there was always enough stock of everything and making sure the impossible items where always on hand. Though some would wonder how he managed it all, most where wise enough not to ask after all there was little to gain from it. He served for a few years close to Serena and the two despite a rather different background and age got along well and when Serena asked the now pensioned senior NCO to help her out he decided to do so as retirement had been awfully boring to him. Using his talents and connections where crucial in getting what was needed, but even more so he proved to be really good with his numbers landing him the CFO title.
COO: Gerad Mytril
Bio: Few names managed to put the fear of the devil into people, but Gerad's certainly did a RAF squadron commander he made sure whatever Serena wanted to get done was done and pity those who thought that they could slack off. Still he managed to do that in a way that made people respect and actually like him as he knew very well when there was time to relax and goof out and when it was time to get things done and get them done to a T. Born from 2 French immigrants he suffered more than a fair share of jokes at the expense of his background in his early days. Most suspect this is why he has such a thick skin these days and why he always wants to ensure a perfect job. It makes him also a bit of the opposite of the more relaxed Serena who would at times drive Gerad crazy with her antics, but still the two managed to work really well together and formed a strong friendship over the years. When Serena asked Gerad if he fancied a job in the Civilian sector he at first called her crazy, but when she explained which planes she was talking about there was really nothing stopping him. They both had a deep love for the VC10 after all and so Gerad became the COO of SIGRÚN and the balance is restored once more.
CP: Jane Vyre
Bio: A fellow VC10 captain from the RAF Jane never served directly with Serena, but the two spend many an hours chatting and comparing notes when they met up. With the VC10 going out of service Jane was looking at training for an new plane to fly within the RAF or take her experience outside of the RAF and go civilian. A message from Serena was all that was needed to tip the scale and she joined up recently as the Chief Pilot in charge of all the flight crews, but also flying herself still, after all it is just a small business. She is known for her sporting style of flying and more than a few times has been slapped on the wrist for it, but no one could deny her focus and talents behind the controls. As a person she tends to appear relaxed at all times even if the world is falling apart, however she is known for a temper and if people are making stupid mistakes they will notice the consequences very clearly, but only they alone, she is not one to put people on the stage.
