I want to repay part of my loan but when I click pay nothing happens, the balance stays the same and no money is deducted.

If you’re trying to do that on your phone then hit the enter/return key instead of the button. I find that works.

It's not required at this time, but having a loan balance counts as debts and affects your credit rating.
