25thof September 2019

ALYX is Opportunity has to be taken in this business as a result of this when we at ALYX got a chance to lease 4 of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners through a third party we took the chance. Knowing we already have 10 of the type on order from Boeing these planes will allow us to get a head start in launching more routes. Hence we can announce 2 new routes both to be flown twice daily, the first is to Amsterdam and the second is to Dublin. These routes mark our first entry into the European market and we hope that we can soon entice many to take a trip with us to come and visit us here in Canada.

As part of this launch there is a promotional code anyone can use when booking tickets to get a 10% discount, simply enter Dreamliner in the coupon section when checking out.

ALYX is pleased to announce operations to Calgary (YYC) starting tomorrow with twice daily flights to be expanded swiftly to 6 flights a day. This marks our second route within Canada, sadly also for the moment the last as we will investigate how we can properly service the smaller airports in a meaningful fashion while still providing the level of service we stand behind.

In other news we are also considering to open up hubs in Vancouver and Montreal over the coming months to strengthen our brand in Canada and bring our services closer to more people. Meanwhile our international expansion will continue to reach east, west and south and through this connect Canada to the world at large.

Really haven't had the spark for any recently, feel free to suggest some ideas, but no promise.

Take your time. The ideas will come.

How about the discussion of changing airline brand and relocating?

This is a whole new airline and brand so no change Smile Just using some of the same pics.

I think the real challenge is that I run this airline rather realistic, so that limits the more out there stories like the VC10 getting hit by a meteor and needing in air refueling Wink

Those were good stories in the best Hollywood style. Good luck with your new airline.

Toronto

ALYX is pleased to announce an lease agreement with Airbus for 20 Airbus A220-100 jet. These slightly smaller version of the A200-300 which ALYX already operates are ideal for our internal expansion in Canada due to their lower runway requirement meaning we can service more airports within Canada. Deliveries of these jet will start shortly and along with them naturally routes will be launched. Unlike out other expansion where we focus on servicing each route to capacity first we will spread these routes out more to bring our service to the people at large and then proceed to increase capacity where there is a demand for it.

Some have asked us if these routes will be serviced by a subsidiary as is common with many US airlines. This will not be the case, here at ALYX we strongly believe in having 1 strong brand with 1 level of service throughout so you always know exactly what you are getting. We hope to soon invite more and more people to experience just that.

Concorde joins the ALYX classic fleet.

Recently ALYX was approached by industry giant United Airlines about the possibility to obtain 4 Concorde as they are working towards fleet unification and ALYX is actively operating a classic fleet. After some negotiations a deal was made and the planes are being transferred over to Toronto from where they will be refitted with new cabins to the ALYX standard. Once this process has been completed they will be send to fly the Toronto-London and Toronto-Paris routes letting them operate towards the nations that made the creation of the still only super sonic passenger jet.

The sound of speed

It is dark and cold in the early morning hours at Toronto Pearson, of course there is plenty of activity going around an airport rarely ever sleeps after all. However this morning something far more special is going to happen than just an other number of flights, shouting passengers and frustrated crews. Not so long ago a new airline going by the name ALYX made this airport her home, privately owned they swiftly made clear they would handle things their own way. Much of this was standard fare in many ways, just better service and all that, the only really unusual aspect was a pair of VC10s in their active fleet. They call this their classic fleet a mission to keep history in motion. However now 4 more planes have joined this classic fleet, the Concorde is going back to the skies, after spending a good while in the hands of a team of mechanics young and old they have been brought entirely up to date and back to an airworthy condition and an interior that provides all the modern comforts, but keeps a wonderful retro feel to it.

It is 0620 as the radio transmission comes in, "Aegis 97 to ground, requesting permission to taxi to runway." "Copy Aegis 97 head for Alpha-Mike, cross over Bravo and Hold at Delta before 33 Right." "Aegis 97 heading for Alpha-Mike, crossing Bravo and holding at Delta before 33 Right."

Slowly the sleek Concorde starts to move, it almost looks like a delicate fragile thing standing so high on her gears. It is a short taxi short run as planned to the runway. "Aegis 97 transfer to the tower for take off clearance and godspeed." "Thanks ground see you in a couple of hours."

"Aegis 97 to tower requesting permission to enter the runway and take off." "Aegis 97, after the 757 has touched down you are clear to enter the runway and take off and your discretion." "Aegis 97 waiting for the 757 to touch down."

Not much later the mentioned 757 touches down as it slows down the Concorde makes it's way onto the runway and once on it reverses to the very edge of the runway. With the runway at Toronto being just under the recommended length they need every single bit 05/23 has an other 100 feet or so on it, but the winds today would not allow for it. Now staged the engines are spooling up to maximum, the afterburners light up to create a deafening noise and soon like a startled hare she starts to roll down the runway going ever faster and faster until she finally pitches up and takes to the skies.

"Aegis 97 you are cleared to proceed as planned to flight level 490. Toronto tower out." With that message the deafening roar is getting less as she pitches towards the empty areas to speed up to a speed in excess of mach 2 and in just over 3 hours she will touch down in London Heathrow and just like that it is as if Concorde never left the skies.
