I've been working with the IL-96-200 and it is a really good plane. $50 Million for it is a joke. Maybe $160 Million. The IL-86 as a second hand aircraft is quite cheap too.

When maintenance costs are put in the income will come right down. But actually I agree - fuel burn should be taken into account. Another thing that the game doesn't include yet is environmental laws - planes such as the 707, 727, and, yes, the Il-86 may be unable to fly in some areas because of emissions and noise from those old engines, which would make operating them quite hard for airlines. Regarding the Il-96, they're not actually as old as I implied in my earlier post. They flew with Aeroflot up to 2012 if not later (that was the last time I flew on one, Moscow-Dubai on Aeroflot. Now the old Aeroflot ones fly for Cubana. They're not amazing, but not that bad. I agree with you, they should be priced more than $50 million.

I think the key is waiting for the maintenance costs to be added in I think those will be a big hit to the older planes included my beloved VC10s.

However Environmental laws are as far as I am aware not going to be put in as well that would instantly kill off these planes and part of the fun of the game is that we can fly them.

Well I noticed a few things about this plane. 1 - I don't think this plane actually exists. There is a -300 variant, a M variant, a -400 and a -400M. No -200 variant. So I'll have to check the stats on this plane as far as seat capacity and fuel flow, etc and correct it in-game. That may be part of the problem.

Every source that I find lists the unit price as 40-50M and I want to use real prices in this game unlike CA.

According to the official figures released on the respective contract (signed in 2013), the customer paid for this aircraft a sum of mere Rouble 3.75 billion. By today’s currency exchange rate, this comes to less than U.S. dollar 52 million. For comparison, Airbus 2016 price list asks 231.5 million for an A330-200 and 256.4 million for an A330-300.

Although maintenance will definitely help, the IL-96 is still in-production, so if you buy a brand new one I don't know if maintenance will necessarily put a huge dent in the profits.

There is a reason why the major airlines don't all just drop Boeing and Airbus and buy hundreds of Ilyushins. Maybe is has to do with the build quality, maybe Ilyushin doesn't have the production capacity to make hundreds of planes. Probably it's a combination of a lot of factors. I'll have to think about how to work this into the game. I could make certain manufacturers "less reliable" than others, but if I do that I want to base it on facts, not just because I think Ilyushin planes are crap

IL-96-200 has been changed to the IL-96-400 in game now.

Max range decreased a little over 1,000 mi and fuel burn increased a little over 1 gal/mi.

The IL-96-400 has a Range with max. fuel of 12,000 km (6,479 nmi) according to Google. Lowering the rank is to kill the plane and this was not the intention.

The game uses range with max payload, not max fuel.
