Landing Fees
#1
Just a heads up that landing fees have been implemented. Landing fees are a small charge to the airlines by an airport each time an aircraft lands. They are used to pay for runway/taxiway upkeep, airport facilities maintenance, etc. Landing fees are applied when turnaround ends for each flight.

Formula (for now) is: Annual Pax * 0.000025

My curiosity has been satisfied. Tongue

Looking up the subject further landing fees are calculated differently per airport. For the most part it appears they are by the empty gross weight of the aircraft. Maybe we could do that plus the annual passenger traffic? (That way it is still cheaper at smaller airports.)

For example:

Landing Fee= (1.60 x [Gross Weight LBS/1,000]) + (Annual Pax x 0.000025)

Just a rough idea. It would be a pain to do a different number for each airport for the cost per pound so that is just an average number.

Yeah that's probably a better way of doing it. Smaller planes do have smaller landing fees

I should say maybe you want to reduce the annual pax multplier but I'll leave that up to you as I'm not sure what exactly you are going to price wise.

My goal was ~$2,000 per landing for the large airports and a fairly large aircraft. I'll have to play around with the formula and see what works best.
