Scheduled Flights

I don't understand why there is such a large gap (24+ hours) between BJA005's flights. It's last flight departed a few hours before I took the screenshot.

BTW, my 707-320 flights aren't making much profit at all even if it has a very profitable route. Is this because of the high fuel costs?

703s are very inefficient, I've experienced that too. Flights aren't scheduled though, you click fly route, and when you do that, it'll depart at the pre-specified departure time. That time may be in the next day, and, remember, it is in the time zone of where the plane is.

It must have just passed the departure time when you clicked "Fly Route". If the route is scheduled to depart the initial airport at 8am, and you click Fly Route at 8:01, it will schedule the route for the following day (+24 hrs).

But that shouldn't be the problem because the flights are from the same route and the route hasn't finished. The first half of the flights in that route have finished but then for some reason in the middle of the route, it waits another 24 hours before the next flight in the route.

This problem has occurred for TUJA001. The flights are all from the same route and yet there is a gap of 26 hours???? I haven't clicked 'Fly Route' or 'Quick Flight' since Sunday night for any plane.

Okay I know what's happening. I thought there was protection in place to stop this from happening, but maybe not. Or maybe it's not working.

The 4th leg of your route, PNQ-GOI departs at 10:25am. However the flight prior to that, HYD-PNQ, doesn't end its turnaround until 10:28. So the system adds an entire day to the schedule. You left an extra 2 minutes after the 1st leg (7:00 vs 6:58) and an extra 3 minutes after the 2nd leg (8:45 vs 8:42). That's an additional 5 minutes that you need to account for after leg 3. Leg 3 says Ready at: 10:23, but that does not factor into account those extra 5 minutes. So you need to add those 5 minutes to the ready at time. So it's really not ready until 10:28.

The game is supposed to throw an error if that happens but I guess it didn't in this case. I'll have to look into that. Ideally what I would like to do is dynamically update the ready at times on each leg to change based on your selected departure times of the previous flights, but that's very complicated to do.

Personally until I can make some improvements to the route system, what I would recommend is sticking exactly to what the ready at times are. If it says ready at 6:58, then depart at 6:58, not 7:00. Otherwise you will need to remember to carry those extra 2 minutes throughout every leg thereafter.

Ok, that makes sense, thanks  Big Grin
I also noticed something else. When I'm looking at the 'Flights Landing Soon (see all)' section from the Airline Overview page, it shows different arrival times to when I press (see all) and look at the 'Scheduled Flights'.

Thanks, I'll need to fix the airline overview page then. The correct times are the ones in the second screenshot.

Ok, thanks Smile

This makes sense! I would suggest making it a sticky note, because I myself couldn't understand what as going with my routes and why they would stop midday whilst sill having scheduled legs.

Dynamically changing the 'ready time' based on the departure time you choose for the leg would be a very helpful addition.

I’m currently rewriting the game guide in much more detail and was going to include this info there. I guess I can sticky this thread until then.
