Times got set back
#1
I've noticed that the planes now depart 1 hour earlier than what I scheduled. (Obviously due to day light savings)
E,g my flight departs from LHR-HND 19:00 but now it departs at 18:00.
However, this does not show on the route management page it still says that it departs at 19:00

Yeah it messed up my schedule so I had to reschedule some flights

I just had changed my DSt settings on my account. Seemed to put things on track

Oh thank god I was dreading going through the timezone code again.

I wonder if there is a way to make the timezone settings in your account auto-update along with the DST switchover... there must be.

It was weird. Before work my flights were still running an hour ahead. So i changed the DST setting and by the time i left work the flight times had synced back up. God knows how that worked??

The only thing the DST setting does is alter the display of the times. Everything is stored in UTC. so if the DST changes it’ll appear as if things are running ahead (or behind) because it’s like you’re looking at things from a different time zone. But the time remaining on the flights should not change.

I’ll have to pay attention to it when our time changes over in a few days just to make sure everything is working fine.

Oh i see. Sorry i didnt mean flight times. I was meat to say departure times

I encountered a similar problem today. My local time set on the account page does not have DST checked, nor does that particular time zone observe time savings. My HQ also does not observe time savings. I have a flight that is scheduled from Mexico City (MEX) to Tokyo International (HND) then to singapore (SIN). The flight leaves on time but the HND to SIN leg is scheduled for tomorrow instead. According to the live flight tracker, it arrives at HND at 2:06 pm, when normally it arrives at HND at 1:06 pm. The departure time has accounted for DST, but for some reason, the arrival time also did, even though it should be the same since the departure should be based on Zulu time.. Therefore it missed the second segment and is scheduled for tomorrow.

Additional info:
Mexico's DTS ends today.
Japan doesn't observe DTS.

Hmm... okay. I will need to check the code then to see how it's handling DST for flights. I thought I had this all figured out earlier but I guess there are still some things I need to address. Thing is departures and arrivals are stored in UTC, so all the game really does is add/subtract hours when it displays the time to the user. Stored arrival/departure times for flights in the database should not change at all during the DST switchover. At lease, that's how it should work...
