I don't really get how it works but I guess that's because I haven't got into it at all. 

In terms of social media platforms, I only have Facebook and messenger but I don't use them a lot. My Facebook's home feed is full of posts from The Grand Tour, Formula 1, WTF1 etc. I'm thinking of deleting it cause I want zero distractions now that I'm getting on the final stretch of school.

Don't delete it. If you're not that distracted by it, then don't worry about it. You might regret it afterwards if you do delete it, just saying

No, nothing gets deleted, especially your Facebook account . I think you can reactivate it though.
