Seat type directly affects your IFE rating. Once IFS is released, the reputation of your airline will be calculated based off your average IFE and IFS ratings airline-wide rather than accumulating more reputation each time you complete a flight.
Reputation is tied to route demand already, so once the connection is made between IFE/IFS ratings and reputation, having a better IFE configuration and IFS configuration will directly increase demand for your airline, allowing you to either carry more passengers or charge higher prices without losing demand.
