If I don't offer a class is that weighted?
On long haul I offer J, Y+ and Y but on short haul I only offer J and Y.
My Y+ rating on each flight is pretty good but overall for the airline it isn't. Is that because on short haul flights it is rated at zero?
I think Unk had said before about this. Apparently it is weighted as zero for now, and I think a change is in progres.

The way the pax re-allocation thing works is, if your ticket price for one class is within 10% of the base price of the class below it (not average), some percentage of the class below will migrate to that class. So lets say base price for economy is $100, if your premium economy price is $105, some of the economy pax will choose instead to upgrade to premium economy. The idea being that if your average economy pax expects to pay $100, and they can get premium for $105, they would choose to upgrade.
Whether or not that's the best way to do it, idk, I guess that is up for discussion. I can probably give exact formulas tomorrow if you are interested. Maybe something needs to be added to the formula to limit the amount of pax that are able to migrate, as opposed to having ALL the demand for that class migrate, leaving you with 0 demand for the lower class. Which is probably not correct.
There are so many variables when it comes to demand it's extremely difficult to get them to all work together and work accurately and realistically for all airline types and all scenarios.
Understand there are some problems. After all this is just the first draft. What I was thinking was that is there a way to like set a lower/upper-bound to the number of passengers so that it helps the newer players to deal against established routes with crazy frequencies. I haven't seen the formula exactly but right now as a relatively newer airline I am forced to deal with "heavy competition" and with such Low reps at the start there is absolutely no way I am getting passengers on that class without lowering profits by much. For instance the PVG-NKG route right now has Jiangsu airlines (with apparently overall rep of around 15%) running 7x daily, and me holding 21% rep for business I am stuck with no business traffic. Having to decrease prices from $950 to $700 to get 1 passenger seems excessive in my opinion. No formula is perfect, I must say. But maybe we could slowly adjust (since we are in beta) and see how we could prevent such situations from happening.
