ALYX CEOs Chiyeko & Takara Kuramochi are pleased to announce a new leasing deal with Airbus and Bombardier for 20 A220-300 aircraft which will help ALYX grow it's route network in North America. Deliveries will commence shortly and are expected to be completed by mid November.
ALYX noted that it has been really pleased with the initial 5 planes of the type they used to start their airline with and that both from an operational point of view and that of their customers it has been very well received. They also state that these modern highly efficient jets are the best option for air travel in this size category reinforcing their desire to keep their environmental impact at a minimum. Takara Kuramochi mentioned that the pilots are also in love with the plane calling it a true step forwards in technology and innovation, while Chiyeko Kuramochi noted once again the efficiency, but also the low overall operational cost.
Bombardier and Airbus made clear to be really pleased with the still brand new airline as their customer. ALYX operates in a smart way which is why they have been able to generate great revenue and profit already despite being very new into the market, this makes them a great current and hopefully future customer for Airbus. Bombardier spokes persons noted that they are pleased to see a Canadian airline flying Canadian build and designed planes noting that all the of the A220-300 ordered by ALYX came from Canadian production lines.
As for the destinations it is expected that ALYX will release those shortly once they investigated their best options within the market which in North America is highly competitive. Though Takara Kuramochi has made a comment in regards for wanting to see some warm beaches.
