OASYS Finds Interim Aircraft During Boeing 737 MAX Grounding

While it previously leased Airbus A320-family aircraft from now-bankrupt Aigle Azur due to the 737 MAX grounding and a high percentage of the Boeing 737 fleet being made up of the 737 MAX, OASYS has been forced to find another partner. Fortunately, such a partner has been found with partner Realines. Realines' McDonell Douglas MD-80 series aircraft, namely one MD-87 and one MD-83, are now operating selected OASYS flights typically operated by the 737 MAX 8. OASYS Charters Boeing 757-300 aircraft continue to fill in for selected MAX 8 and MAX 9 routes, while the lease agreement with Omni Air International remains in place for a Boeing 767-200ER. OASYS Charters also continues to operate an Airbus A300 on selected 737-scheduled routes in order to make up for lost capacity. OASYS' 737 Next Generation replacement plan has been put on hold due to the grounding, so we ask for passengers' patience when flying on older, more maintenance-prone aircraft and thank all our passengers for flying with us during this difficult time. The 737 MAX has been removed from the OASYS schedule until January 15, 2020, and further updates will be posted regarding the status of the narrow-body aircraft in the OASYS fleet.
