Well yeah that'd be ideal. I wish companies in the US would pay nice wages and give several weeks of vacation like most other countries but it just doesn't happen most of the time. My last company only gave 5 days per year of paid vacation, and it only went up to 10 days once you reached 5 years of service. That's typical of most US companies although some do give more.
Oh and if you work part time you're SOL, don't count on any benefits whatsoever other than maybe 401K savings plan and some kind of health insurance, if you work enough. Again depends on the company but for the most part, part-time workers don't get anything. Which is fine if it's an entry level job I guess but at a certain point you'd think you would start earning some kind of benefits.
