[CONFIRMED] Handelong contracts
#9
The big part of these contacts is putting out a requirement and the various handling companies bid on it. Sometimes they throw in free/included services, but there isn't a relationship between cost and speed. The only purpose is for these contracts is saving $$$.

The airlines usually contract out handling for non hub locations, it doesn't make sense to interview, train, etc. staff for your one flight a week in Africa and the likes.

Source: my brother works at probably the largest MRO and hates his boss for promising random stuff, including ground handling, in contacts while being understaffed.
