Depending on where that conference is the difference in how longs it takes to get to the airport could be over an hour so that's something to consider. I thought AA's 787 was cool but in the back it's pretty cramped with the 9 wide layout so be warned although I had overnight flights in the 787 so probably mattered more to me than on a 4 hour hop. A cool plane to fly on no doubt you just need to decide whether it's worth paying the $180 more over Southwest (plus even more if you're gonna have bags).
