Made some further changes to the database, it should load a bit quicker now.
Going to create a script that batches the transactions and deletes them after 3 months, so the financial data for each month after the 3 month period will be saved, but the individual transactions will be deleted. That probably won't help loading times as much though. Need to do something similar, maybe at the end of each month that batches transactions and stores the values just so the income statement doesn't have to calculate them on the fly each time the page loads.
