I like the idea that a longer turn-around will increase (slightly) the reputation of an airline as the cabin crew boards efficiently at a smooth pace (in contrast to a rushed low cost turnaround however cheaper since you use the gate for a lesser amount of time).
Thus, a short turn around would save money, and a longer turnaround would add satisfaction or prestige (rating perhaps, whatever the system). Furthermore, we could reduce the risk of an eventful delay with a longer turnaround as the checks and fueling/boarding process are handled better.
