Air Pichu to launch all-Business routes

Delhi - Air Pichu COO Vinatash Shanti announced today in a press conference that Air Pichu will be launching a series of all-Business class route services. These flights will be part of its Honor Club service, which the COO also announced.
The Honor Club service refers to passengers regularly flying on Air Pichu's Business or First Class. This would be an upgrade to the Pichu Elite membership Program, and would require 8800 Rupee as entrance fee, together with a requirement that its members need to fly at least 6 round-trips in a year on Air Pichu or Pichu America. "Honor Club members get 20% discounts on all Honor Club services, apart from all the benefits of Pichu Elite membership, such as free lounge access, more miles per $ spent, etc."

John McHeffery: Indian aviation market still relatively underdeveloped.

New York - The group CEO of Air Pichu Group, Mr. John McHeffery, has noted that the Indian aviation market remains underdeveloped despite the entrant of new players in the market.
In an interview with the New York Times, Mr. McHefery has commented that the Indian aviation market has grown ever since the Indian government opened up to allow multiple new players, and loosen the regulation to allow foreigners to have a 49% stake in Indian Airlines. "We have had new players entering the market. Apart from Air Pichu, there is also Express, Exotic Airlines, El Roi. What remains a problem is that these airlines serve mainly the domestic market. Therefore, we are the only Indian carrier serving international routes from India."
He notes that when he was invited to become group CEO barely a month ago, all the stakeholders and the Board of Directors had shared similar sentiments about the Indian market. "When I was at that Annual General Meeting, I still remember how everyone has mentioned that there is lots of room or expansion in the Indian aviation market, and they hoped that I could help better plan the expansion of the group." He said that he was given the task of balancing the task of increasing Air Pichu's international routes, while ensuring that the group does not concede the local market to these domestic airlines.
He added that the request to create an American branch for the airline was also a problem originally. "I was thinking how you could have expansion in 2 different markets at the same time, while making the airline profitable. As the days past and I reviewed the earnings of the Pichu America airline, then I realized -- that Americans would provide the revenue to fund our Indian expansion," he answered when he was asked about how the group balances growth in both airlines. "So some of Pichu America's profits will be used to expand Air Pichu's fleet, while we continue to expand the Pichu America's operations so that we can garner higher profits." He also mentioned how air travel is very common in America but not in India, where the average national income is much lower. "I still remembered when we launched Pichu America's DCA-JFK route, the tickets for the next month was snapped up in a week, as we were one of the few airlines that operated the route between America's 2 major cities. Meanwhile in India, we had to keep airfares slightly lower to make it affordable for all Indians, in order to boost demand for our routes."
When asked if Air Pichu was going to have any expansion plans, and if there are plans to resume India-South America flights, such as the original Mumbai-Rio route, Mr McHeffery was pretty optimistic. "For now, we are more focused on Indian routes, but we aim to make a comeback on non-stop flights to South America."
He hinted that Mumbai will have a number of new routes launched in a few weeks, as well as an increasing number of destinations in China, such as Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Chengdu, Kunming, and Wuhan. "Just you wait. One marker you can take note is Pichu America launching flights to Las Vegas. Once Pichu America flies to Las Vegas, Air Pichu will fly to Xiamen and Hong Kong soon after."
And just hours after the interview, Pichu America announced a press conference in the city of Las Vegas, scheduled for 12th September 5pm.
