I think a simple calendar tick box interface could work. Forget to schedule a check? Have a huge reputation cut, pay huge penalties, and in a worst case scenario(maybe a 10% chance), have that AC turn into a fireball and lose it altogether + the reputation cuts + penalties and monetary compensation to the victims.
