In Singapore, yes, public transport is the main mode of transport, but it is not bad at all. You can travel from anywhere in Singapore to anywhere else within at most 1.5 - 2 hours, the island is that big
. Our buses are not scheduled but usually comes in five minute frequencies, and the total pricing is very very cheap ($2-3 and you can get anywhere; the transport system pricing is linked, buses and trains and all). The system is not comfy (not like those double-deckered Sydney trains with cushioned seats everywhere), but it is very much clean
. Of course Singaporeans find ways to complain, like those once-in-a-blue-moon train system breakdowns, but generally the place is very well connected, and they are still trying to open two new MRT lines!
