Routes System is Live

On the first route was any error message displayed? If it said something along the lines of "Leg 3 departure is scheduled before the turnaround time of leg 2 has ended" then it would only insert the first 2 flights.

Keep in mind if you add extra time between flights you can't just add 1 minute between all the flights and have it work out. You need to add 1 minute for the 2nd flight, 2 minutes for the 3rd flight, 3 minutes for the 4th flight, and so on. If you want 5 extra minutes between flights, you have to add 5 minutes for the 2nd flight, 10 minutes for the 3rd flight, 15 minutes for the 4th flight and so on.

If you don't keep up that pattern eventually one of the flights will end up departing before the prior flight is ready. Hopefully I can work on delays soon, so instead of just not inserting those flights, it would still insert them but there would just be a delay applied for whatever time is required.

I'm loving the routes. When you delete one does it delete all the scheduled flights or do they have to operate before I can reassigne the aircraft to a new route

Deleting a route has no effect on the scheduled flights, it just deletes the route configuration. If an aircraft still has scheduled flights to run, you cannot assign a new route to that aircraft until all scheduled flights end. Or, at least that's how it's supposed to work. Who knows how it actually works lmao

Small change, cleaned up the routes page a bit by changing the way the route is displayed. Added a column for initial departure time. Changed the "Length" column to say "Flight Time" to avoid confusion. I'll have to see if I can calculate the length of the route including turnaround time and extra time between flights.

Still having the strange issue of flight numbers not displaying correctly on the fleet page, and then correcting themselves after a minute or so... no idea why that is happening. The correct flight # is stored in the database, it's just for some reason the fleet page doesn't display the correct flight # next to the aircraft right off the bat. If you look at the active flights page for example right after an aircraft takes off on leg 2+ of a route, the correct flight # will be displayed there. But then look at that aircraft on the fleet page, and another number is displayed. Then after 1-2 minutes the fleet page correct itself and displays the correct number.

Another thing I'd like to add is some kind of progress bar or indication of where the route is currently at in relation to the beginning and end of the route. I'll have to think a bit about how I could get that to work.

Another Update - Routes can now be scheduled for the next day as well as the current day. You'll see a message that the route was scheduled successfully for tomorrow.

Just one minor issue, when you view the active flights page, the ETA times do not account for the date, only the time... so if a flight's ETA is 3pm tomorrow, and it's currently 2pm, the ETA will say 1 hour remaining even though technically it's 25 hours remaining. I'm working on changing that now.

Edit - 1 more minor update. The "Ready At:" times on the route configuration page have been adjusted to account for 1 extra minute between each flight. This should eliminate any errors from flight times being too close together.

Sounds great! Besides the leg issues, everything is working great on my end.

I'm not a big fan of the fact, that my flights HAVE TO depart not later than one hour after the turn-around has been completed. Why's that? If I want my planes to sit on the ground for a bit longer, then let me do it for god's sake. Granted, I could extend the turnaround times for all my aircraft, but even then, it doesn't work all the time.

I think, there should be an extension to two or three hours - because I'm quite sure, that you had a good reason to add the original 1-hour-limit to the code, Unk. Tongue

Yeah the reason was to prevent people from leaving extraordinary amounts of time between flights and having their aircraft be on autopilot for days on end. But I suppose it doesn't matter that much... if the plane's on the ground it's not making money.

This is fixed now, there shouldn't be any issues but let me know if something is not correct with it.
