Hahahahaha! That's funny and then really sad as wellTongue

Probably jinxed it but the Red Bull looks good in these first two sessions!
#44
I did jinx itTongue

Well Riccardo was only 1 tenth off of Hamilton so they're not that slow. Should be a fun race!

Yeah it's not that bad!

What's your view on the halo? I don't like the look of it and I hoped they'd come up with a better solution :/
#47
I don't like it, it won't stop debris from hitting the helmet if that was the idea. VSC was a very good addition and solves driving too fast under yellow. If the car flips I don't think the halo will provide any additional protection.

Indycar unveiled their 2018 car this week and it was designed to add a windscreen once it's ready. Seems like the FIA is rushing for some kind of solution even if it doesn't solve much :/

Yeah it just seems like a rushed decision overall.

On a side note great to see Kubica in the Renault for testing!

The windscreen just needs a proper optical company to work at it, so that the shape actually does not hinder vision. (Same reason why cheap sunglasses suck so much the shape of the lens is bad so looking through it is not nice, while a good pair the lens is shaped in a way that means it is comfortable to look through).

As for the Halo it will deflect larger bits of debries and special prevent the head on connection with it, debreis hitting the side is less an issue as the shape of the helmet will just deflect it and most of the force. It is a pretty solution, not really, but I am not to upset about it personally.

This nascar silly season just continues to unfold... so many driver changes I can hardly keep up lol.

Dale Earnhardt Jr retires, to be replaced by Alex Bowman in the #88
Matt Kenseth dropped by JGR
Erik Jones leaves the #77 FRR car to replace Kenseth in the #20 car
Penske decided to add a third car, #12
Ryan Blaney leaves the #21 WBR car to drive for Penske in the new #12 car
Paul Menard then leaves the #27 RCR car to drive the vacated #21
Kurt Busch was not renewed with SHR, leaving the #41 car potentially open.
Kasey Kahne was dropped by HMS
William Byron will move up from the junior series to replace Kahne in the #5 car

So now at this point we have Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth and Kasey Kahne without rides. Danica Patrick has also not re-signed with SHR yet, but also has not been released. #77 car is available, assuming FRR wants to keep it running. #41 is available if Kurt Busch doesn't re-sign. #27 RCR car is still open. If Ty Dillon goes to the #27 car as a lot of people think (Ty is the owner's grandson, so... yeah) that will leave Ty's current #13 car open for next year. And then there's rumors of GMS Racing starting a brand new HMS-Backed team in the cup series. That would open up an additional 1-2 rides.

All this and we're just about two thirds into the season. Never remember it being this busy lol. Sure would be interesting if F1 teams were allowed up to 4 cars like Nascar. I guess they don't do it to control costs and to improve competition, but it sure would be cool to see 4 Ferrari's vs 4 Mercedes vs 4 Red Bulls.
