Airports Map

I've spent that last 3-4 hours creating a map that displays all the airports in the game. Rather than use the traditional Google Maps, I've went with AmCharts, which is a javascript charts/maps software. I plan on using their charting/graphing software as well to display statistics, financial information, etc. I created two maps, a world map, and a USA map, because the world map does not display the US states, so if you're looking for airports in a particular state it could get difficult to locate them.

You can click on the airports and a little info box will pop up, but I'm still working on how to customize that more. I'd like for it to show lots of data about the airport and provide links to lease a gate there, etc. Hopefully I can figure it out.

I can agree full-heartedly that the design choice was a good one. Just one small favor to ask though, would it be hard to get a "zoomed-in" map of airports for Europe, considering the density of dots on the world map?

Also surprised that there's no airports shown on the US map for Alaska & Hawaii, even though they're clearly marked on the world map... :/

I could probably make a Europe map as well. Although keep in mind you can zoom in to a great extent on both maps to get a better view. I think you need to actually use the map to get the full experience, which hopefully you will be able to do soon.

Alaska and Hawaii, because they have been moved closer to the contiguous US for display purposes, cannot properly display lat/lon markers due to the way the map is "mapped out" ... excuse the pun lol. Think of the US map as a more detailed view of the contiguous US, bar AK and HI.

For example this is the view when you zoom in over Europe:

And you can zoom closer than that if need be. You can also click on a country and the map will zoom & center over that particular country.

This kind of illustrates the issue & why the airports weren't showing up on the other map. Actually, they were there, if you scrolled up to where Alaska or Hawaii actually were. But the image of the state was moved to another location on the map. Not sure if I'll keep this style or go back to the other map. Kinda pointless showing alaska and hawaii if the airports don't show up on them so I'll probably stick with this for now. Doesn't really matter.

Also, I didn't realize how large alaska really is until I saw this lol.
