What do you guys think about this formula?

You'll have to download it if you want to edit. If this was implemented you would be able to see the break-down of the operating cost for each flight, i.e. how much was taxes, maintenance, insurance etc. Would probably add those categories to the income statement as well.

1- Would inter EU flights be classed as "International" as there is no higher taxes currently
2 - IFE/IFS is this charged per flight or once off installation
3 - Basically the PAX costs should be added to the ticket price to garner a decent profit

1 - Good point. No they won't be, and I'll have to designate which countries are in the EU to make that work.

3 - Well that would be up to the players as to how much they want to increase their ticket prices to compensate

Id like to see this implemented to see how it reflects at least initially on the LH flights, tweaking of the shorter flight could be worked on with the EU classification etc

I think I will attempt to implement all of this today, then if further changes are needed we can go from there.

New operating costs have been implemented per the formulas in the spreadsheet. Let me know of any issues.

Flights within the EU will be taxed as domestic flights. Countries that are classified as EU members in-game are:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

In addition to incurring IFE & IFS expenses, you will now also earn revenue as well on a per-flight basis. Until IFE/IFS is fully implemented, the game will assume you charge for the services (thus earning some revenue). Revenue is roughly 50% of the expenses, however it depends on how many people decide to purchase the services on each flight, which at this time is fairly random. Anywhere from 40% - 100% of the passengers will choose to purchase the services. Obviously later on, depending on how you configure your setup, the percentage of passengers willing to purchase services will change. As well as the revenue you earn and the expense you incur. But for now, that's not controllable, so it's all calculated automatically.

Since the new operating costs went live, has anyone also noticed a drop off on passenger numbers, flights that used to 100% full are now sometime 0 passengers.
