During a non-advertised crew training flight to Toronto - on which a lucky few got the chance to try out service on the Global Airways A340-500 before it began service to Sydney - Global Airways CEO Daniel Clark was asked about his opinion on the opening of a competing route by OASIS Air. His response: "Well look, on one hand I think competition is always a good thing, and can only push everyone involved to become better. However, the current offer by OASIS cannot really be considered competition. We have two A340s that will be flying the route six times a week, and don't worry, it'll be seven eventually. The twice-weekly service by OASIS isn't as convenient, obviously. Plus, look at the cabin config they've got - while I have a lot of respect for Etihad, picking up leftovers from other airlines isn't really our thing here at Global Airways. As you can see, we've fully redone the interior, and its a very low-density setup we've got, almost 25% fewer seats in economy, which is a huge comfort boost on nineteen, twenty hour flights. Honestly, I am sure that Global Airways will consistently be the option customers choose with the playing field as tilted as it is."

In response to a question from an NBC reported after arrival in John F Kennedy International Airport, Daniel Clark also remarked that a codeshare with Air Australia is just rumor and speculation at this time.

Global Airways is pleased to announce C&C First, a service class that will replace Global First on select flights to Canada and all flights to the Caribbean. An order for 30 Boeing 777-300ERs in C&C configuration is planned for the future. Global Airways has also now published official descriptions of hard product and service in all its service classes.

Global Airways has purchased three Boeing 777-200A aircraft for a total of 122 million dollars, and would especially like to thank Mid American Airlines for the excellent deals given on two of those. The third was purchased from Wells Fargo Bank Northwest. These aircraft have been configured in the same 186 Y | 34 C | 9 F configuration as the Global Airways' 777-200LRs, and with their low purchase price and reduced operating costs due to derated MTOW are the perfect options to operate many routes while awaiting deliveries of newly-ordered Boeing 777-200LR and -300ER aircraft. The three purchases have allowed Global Airways to begin operating daily flights to Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Nassau, and Milan, as well as reopen daily service to London Heathrow. Options for purchasing more Boeing 777-200As are currently being explored.
