Automatic Routes
#1
As you probably know automatic routes have been implemented. Every route can now be activated and deactivated. Only active routes will fly. This allows you to create several routes for the same aircraft and switch between them by choosing which route you want to activate.

Every 20 minutes (on the hour, 20 minutes after and 40 minutes after) the system runs the script that checks for active routes that need to be scheduled. Keep that in mind when creating routes. If the time is currently 1:01, the system will not check for routes again until 1:20. If you create a route that departs at 1:15, the route will not get scheduled until the next day.

In order to cancel flights that you have already scheduled, you first need to deactivate the route. Once you do that, you will notice the [Image: cross.png] icon. If you click this, it will cancel all scheduled flights associated with that route. If the route is already in progress, any in-progress flights will not be cancelled.

Thank you unk for this crucial update!

Even though it might be a little unpopular among Cyber Airlines native, I think it is nonetheless a coherent decision on your part.

Hopefully it will steer the game on more of a simulation & strategic management path rather than a "who can click the button the most" game. That was the main goal with this change.

In the future as more bugs get ironed out and I can focus on more new features, I can add things that compliment that ideology. It'll give players more things to do other than buy planes and set up routes.

That's a very pertinent argument nonetheless, it does give more players the chance to succeed (especially those who've already got busy schedules in education or their professional life).

Instead of putting emphasis on micro-management the automatic-routes system adds layers of depth which brings it closer to real life macro-management.

I'll try and think of ideas to help develop this aspect of the game, I think it's a great idea unk!

I just changed the timing of the script that schedules routes. The game will now check for routes to be scheduled every 10 minutes instead of every 20 minutes. I looked at how many routes there are and really, it should be fine to run that often. I mean the weather script is probably more intensive than this one and I haven't had any issues thus far.
