I want to gather your ideas and input on the upcoming re-design of the gate management page. Any and all ideas on what should be included or left out, how the UI should look, any feature you'd like to see, etc are welcome.
some things I want to include:
1. Easy way to show gates that are approaching expiry w/ one-click option to renew. Would use the same length settings already in place for that gate.
2. Instead of real-time utilization, maybe try to show average utilization over the past X days. Possibly try to highlight airports/gates that you get frequent 'no gate available' penalties at.
3. One-click gate leasing right from the gate management page, similar to one-click renew. Easy way to lease new gates instead of going through the lease gate page.

Also, maybe we can have the ability to build/lease terminals as well, that will have an expensive start-up price, but maybe cost a bit cheaper on the operating costs.
Also I think the daily utilization page should stay.. Also maybe you can include (when you're viewing the Gate Management page of a gate, eg this link: https://www.airlineenterprise.com/airlin...irport=154) all the scheduled flights that will be using that airport's gate can appear at the bottom and it shows the arrival time & departure time?

Well the game doesn't know which gate it will use ahead of time, that is decided upon landing. It looks for an open gate, and if there are multiple open gates, it just picks one and assigns the aircraft to it. So there's not a way to display what flights will use which gates.
Terminals are on the list for some time in the future but won't be part of this update as there's a lot involved in that, this is really just a re-design of the UI with regards to gate management.

Perhaps (if possible if course) that an alert is thrown up when making active a schedule, if the gate limits are going to be exceeded when the aircraft lands, or indeed if there are any gates leased at all at the airports on the routing.
For the gate management page, agree the quick button to lease a gate would be welcome.
Im not sure how it works in the real life but do airlines have gates for each aircraft? Or do they park a load of planes off stand overnight and just bring them to the gate half hour before the flight?
Cone to think of it, are gates owned by airlines, or is it more slots that are owned or leased?. It could bring a new dimension to scheduling if there are slot constraints and movements per hour restrictions. especially at crowded airports. The more lucrative slots would naturally cost more. At present the entire fleet can take off at the exact same time.
I am probably veering away from UI suggestions here though so il stop now. Keep up the good work.

Some sort of alert on the routes page alerting you of missing gates in a route is in the works. I think I will work it into the current warning system that alerts you of scheduling conflicts.
I'm not sure what happens to aircraft overnight. Some of them probably occupy the gate and some are probably parked somewhere. I really don't know for sure though. There was a discussion on airport parking and adding that into the game a while back but I forget the specifics.
I believe it's the gate itself although it might depend on the contract the airline has with the airport. Probably depends on the airport itself as well, a small airport with only a few gates may have a different leasing scheme than a large airport with lots of gates. But slots aren't really worked into the game yet (although they kinda are, seeing as two planes are not able to occupy the same gate at the same time).

Depending on the airport and the number of flights an airline does, the plane can be left at the gate overnight, then the next morning the new flight crew start ups and then heads off to do their flights, but it can also be tugged away to a parking that is accessible by the use of stairs, or into an airline's hangar (if it's not empty with an aircraft doing maintenance!)

Indeed, places like Long Beach, Heathrow and JFK are slot-restricted while other airports aren't; allowing you to just get a gate, fly in and out without purchasing slots and having to get the slots approved..

True about those airports. I think that we should have a limit of some type. Maybe we should also get a curfew at some airports such as LHR which have one in real life. Sorry, getting off topic

I think that would be too hard to manage for every airport in the game

Yeah but it would be a big task for UNK to go through everyvairporot in the game and research every curfew
