  Insert table into forum post
Posted by: Unknown98 - 10-07-2018, 03:54 AM - Forum: Game Updates - Replies (7)

Some custom myCode was just added to the forums to allow you to insert tables into forum posts. To use it:

To use:

This gives the table

Code:
[table=NAME] [/table]

This gives a row.
Code:
[tr] [/tr]

This gives a header column
Code:
[th] [/th]

This gives content
Code:
[td] [/td]

Change NAME to suit.

Example:

Code:
[table=test]
[tr][th]Vegetable[/th][th]Meat[/th][/tr]
[tr][td]Onion[/td][td]Beef[/td][/tr]
[/table]

Produces:

VegetableMeat
OnionBeef

Just add more sections as needed.

You must add a table name otherwise the code breaks.

Thanks to Zortan for the suggestion.

IATA: RA
ICAO: REA
Callsign: REALINES
Ownership: 15% Global Group, 10% Union Air Corporation, 70% World Airlines Group, 5% Private/Other Investors.

Realines is a low-cost carrier in Sri Lanka. Founded in 2004 with 3 DC-9 aircraft, the airline rapidly expanded, introducing the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 in 2010, with all of the DC-9s retired by 2013. Long-haul flights were started in 2014 with Boeing 767s, and regional flights in 2016 with the deHavilland Canada Dash-8. By early 2018, Realines was operating every Dash 8 variant other than the Q400, as well as every MD-80 variant, and continues to do so.

Why Realines?
Realines offers you cheap tickets, and we get you from here to there and back with no hassle. Don’t want that fancy meal? Don’t pay for other passengers to eat it either! Don’t need a checked bag? Don’t pay for everyone else’s checked luggage!

However, if you want any of these things and more, just ask, and for a very low price, we’ll add them onto your ticket! We can give you a meal, entertainment, check luggage, overhead bin space, and more! Just ask us!

Realines Fleet:

Realines operates a large fleet of comfortable aircraft, which will take you to your destination at a low cost! All Realines aircraft are named after cities and provinces in Sri Lanka, showing that we are Sri Lanka's local airline!

Boeing 767-200ER

The Boeing 767-200ER is the longest range variant of the Boeing 767, and provides excellent comfort for passengers while still remaining economically and environmentally viable. Realines uses the 767-200ER on the longest routes from Sri Lanka, such as routes to New York, Los Angeles, and more. The 767-200ER’s seat map is below.

Boeing 767-300(ER)

The Boeing 767-300 and -300ER are extended fuselage versions of the original 767. These aircraft feature additional seating capacity for higher-demand routes, and generally operate long-haul routes, as well as a few higher-demand short hops. Select Boeing 767-300 and -300ER aircraft acquired from Delta Air Lines feature in-flight WiFi, with prices starting at just Rs2000 for a one-flight pass! Seat map is below.

McDonnell MD-81, MD-82, MD-83, MD-88

The MD-80 offers high levels of comfort, as well as a quieter cabin in most seats. Realines operates all variants of the MD-80, including the long-range MD-83 and the updated MD-88. The MD-80 family is the backbone of the Realines fleet, operating routes such as Colombo to Singapore, Colombo to Jakarta, Colombo to Delhi and more. Select members of the MD-80 fleet that have been purchased used from American Airlines and Delta Air Lines are equipped with WiFi connectivity, which costs just Rs 2000 for an entire-flight pass. The seat map for the MD-81, MD-82, MD-83, and MD-88 variants are below.

McDonnell MD-87

The McDonnell Douglas MD-87 is a special variant of the MD-80 family. Equipped with a lower seating capacity, but increased range, the MD-87 offers jet engine comfort on routes where jets are not otherwise viable. Combine that with a quiet cabin and a spacious 2-3 seating layout, and you’ve got a winner. The MD-87 seat map is available below.

deHavilland Canada Dash-8-100/200

The Dash-8-100 and 200 are modern, quiet, and comfortable turboprops. The -100 is the original variant of the Dash-8, originally a larger and more refined version of the DHC-6 Twin Otter. The -200 improves on the -100 with new engines and a new cabin. The "baby dash" is very comfortable, and allows for routes that would otherwise not be viable with a larger aircraft, such as domestic Sri Lankan flights and more!

deHavilland Canada Dash-8-300

The Dash-8-300 is a longer, higher-capacity version of the Dash-8-100/200. The -300 offers a larger seating capacity, and is perfect for operating multiple frequencies to routes that otherwise would only support a single jet frequency. The 2-2 seating arrangement allows for added comfort, and all Dash-8s have quiet, low-vibration turboprop engines that propel you to your destination in comfort.

Passengers in Coach and Plus are able to use one of Realines' iPads on flights over 2 hours - which are available from gate to gate - just ask one of our lovely cabin attendants, and for a small fee of just Rs 1,100, you can have hours of on-demand entertainment at your fingertips! Those in Premium onboard Boeing 767 aircraft recieve an iPad complimentarily for the duration of the flight, and on aircraft equipped with WiFi, all passengers can stream entertainment to their personal device for free. Rs 200 from each fee for entertainment will be donated to the World Vision charity.

Realines Routes:

Realines operates the largest route network of any Sri Lankan carrier, and also operates a codeshare agreement with Singaporean Union Airlines, with more planned for the future. Once the game has reset, the routes will range from being as far away as Los Angeles to as nearby as Sigiriya, a domestic destination in Sri Lanka. Operating a large network is important for Realines, as it helps passengers reach their destinations easily, with connections between destinations available. Realines' network covers 5 of the 6 inhabited continents and features daily flights to many destinations.

Initial Destinations (all commencing October / November 2018):
Malé, Maldives
Delhi, India
Cochin, India
Gan, Maldives
Pune, India
Guangzhou, China
Helsinki, Finland
London-Gatwick, United Kingdom
Frankfurt, Germany
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Sigiriya, Sri Lanka

Initial routes will be operated with MD-80, Dash-8, and 767 aircraft.

  Always go into a mess
Posted by: airlinemanage - 10-04-2018, 04:29 PM - Forum: Support - Replies (4)

I assign two routes to the same aircraft, ABA and BAB. One aircraft(id=32930) can fly switch between ABA and BAB, the other(id=32929) cannot, always go to a mess, why?

I found a difference is the aircraft that can switch between two routes have every flight scheduled, but the aircraft with id=32929 has some flight not scheduled, causing the flight to choose the wrong route.

When the reputation of the airline is at maximum, is it useful to have, e.g., bigger setas, services etc in the cabin?

  Slots
Posted by: Unknown98 - 10-02-2018, 08:12 PM - Forum: Game Updates - Replies (28)

A preliminary slot usage system has been installed. You can see the changes on the gate management page. No changes have been made to the cost structure yet, so technically as long as you have 1 gate at the airport your flights will continue to operate normally.

Dedicated gates give you 10 slots. Shared gates give you 1 slot. Those numbers are subject to change, but this keeps with the current ratio. I have a feeling shared gates need to give more than 1 slot. Probably 2. That would allow 2 landings per day with a shared gate.

Every day at midnight UTC the slot usage statistics are reset and, in the near future, this is also when any costs will be calculated and applied to your airline. The two types of costs would be for using a shared gate as well as going over your slot allotment. Dedicated gates will still be used before shared gates once the new cost system gets put into place.

The way utilization works is it takes how many slots you have and compares it to how many you have used so far for the day. Remember a day is from UTC 00:00 to 23:59, not your local time or airline HQ time. A utilization of > 100% means you do not have enough slots for the number of flights you have going into that airport.

I want to let this run for a few days and make sure it is working properly and calculating utilization correctly before I implement the costs and penalties for over-utilization.

Smile Can I run more than one airline?
Posted by: fsclips - 09-28-2018, 06:07 PM - Forum: Game Discussions - Replies (2)

Hi all!

I am still very new here and just trying to find my feet.

In real life I have been working in aviation for about 20 years and the company I work for has several subsidiaries.  I was wondering if it is permitted for one player to run more than one airline. For example a main line and a low-cost arm or a charter arm of that same company but with a different base, name set-up etc.

Thanks!

  Trip report: South Africa
Posted by: Unknown98 - 09-28-2018, 04:54 AM - Forum: Off-Topic - Replies (5)

tl;dr: South Africa is stunning and everyone should go.

I decided to go to South Africa earlier this year. So I saved my money, took extra hours at work and then put in for 3 weeks vacation and said peace out. Africa in general has always been on my list and I'd seen pictures/shows about cape town and all it has to offer and it didn't disappoint.

At the time I booked, Emirates had the cheapest fares from Houston at $1250 RT. But now I see KLM has fares for $850 RT. Oh well.

Since I was going with emirates I decided to do the Dubai stopover and see a little bit of Dubai before I went to Cape Town. It was cool and I'm glad I went but I don't have any desire to go back. Outbound flight was IAH-DXB on the A380. Nice plane, quiet too. But 15 hours is far too long to be stuck in an airplane with other members of the public. Watching deadpool, deadpool 2, and the entire season of AP Bio only to realize your not even halfway there is a horrendous feeling.

And the obligatory Burj Khalifa

If I had more than 2 days I probably would have went to Abu Dhabi and checked out the F1 track and Ferrari World, or maybe a day trip to Al Ain.

Flight #2 was DXB-CPT on a 777-300ER, much louder aircraft but Spotify and headphones fixed that. Hard to enjoy the flight when the guy next to you takes up 1.5 seats... but I made it.

Day 1 I went up to Signal Hill and watched the sunset, simply amazing

Stayed at a camp called Pretoriuskop, they served breakfast and dinner for us every night. Nothing beat sitting around the campfire at night exchanging stories and drinking black label while you could hear animals in the distance.

Flight #4 was a short hop to Johannesburg on an E170

Then I caught my connection to George, a Kulula 737-800. Got the standard Europcar livery. But I did see "Flying 102" at the gate in Jo'burg.

Got my rental car and made the terrifying drive, at night, on the wrong side of the road to Knysna.

And finally made the short hop from GRJ back to Cape Town on an ERJ 140 (I think) where I had a 6 hour layover, and then back to Dubai and on to IAH again. Needing to go West but watching the plane fly East is soul crushing. Next time definitely going through Europe instead. Or better yet might give Delta's ATL-JNB a try if it isn't still $2000 RT.

Emirates was nice, food was pretty good for plane food although towards the end I was getting tired of it. Free alcohol though. All my flights within South Africa with the exception of Kulula were with Airlink, nice airline no complaints there. They had good sandwiches lol.

Any questions feel free to ask. The drought in Cape Town didn't detract from the trip at all, just had to be conscious of water usage but water availability was never an issue. Met lots of interesting people and made a few friends. If you get the chance I would definitely go, for me it was totally worth it.
