The Voyager Alliance

The details about a realistic airline will be coming soon, but here is a basic outline:

Fleet has to be realistic. No 707s or DC-8s. That sort of thing. Don't have every single aircraft type, and if your country has bad relations with a country that produces a plane don't order it. For example, an airline in Iran can't order Boeings (or airbusses, really).

Scheduling has to be realistic. Don't use your planes all 24 hours of the day is basically what it comes down to, as well as decent turn around times and proper maintenance checks.

Routes have to be realistic. Operating a flight to SYD from PNS is a little ridiculous.

HQ and Hubs have to be realistic. For example, don't start in North Korea as they don't really allow private companies, and of course you'd be a private company.

Make the name realistic. For the purposes of our standards, operating as American Airlines, for example, is not allowed. Also don't have a very american name for a South African airline, for example.

Those are the main things, but there are a lot more. Eventually, we will be releasing a realism guide, which will consist of a small textbook as well as some explanatory videos.

I am very confused.

As the game administrator said, everything can not be simulated. Maybe we should understand that what the game allows us should be considered realistic. The game administrator and all the players have tried to make everything realistic and if there is something that cannot be done then that must be considered realistic for the purposes of the game.

The game allows us to create fictional stories and if someone lives in a city that in real life has no chance to appear on the map then this game will provide the opportunity and the player will be able to see his/her city growing beautiful and rich and this should not be considered a problem.

I am not saying that you should change your mind but you should think about this.

We are being as realistic as the game allows. Currently in the game you can be rather unrealistic or very realistic. It's your choice entirely, so we are choosing to be realistic. If you wish to play unrealistically that is of course your choice and we respect that, but we will offer realism advice and guidance to those players that are interested in it. We aren't suggesting to do anything that isn't yet possible in the game, just simulating what a real-life airline would be like.

Haha not a real textbook. It's about 20 pages long. The videos will cover the stuff much more concisely haha.

We don't want to force anyone, because why should we? But we encourage players to play realistically, because there are virtually two objectives in this game:
1. Be first in value (earn a ton of money) or reputation
2. Simulate a personal realistic airline for fun.
(Optional: 3. Spam to kill all others Big Grin)

And for me, my original goal when I searched for airline management games was to create an airline operating like a real airline. (I actually imagined my aircraft flying in the real world when I first started playing such games Tongue)

For example, a realistic fleet would operate one aircraft family for short haul operations ( like the A320 or the 737 instead of both). There are some exceptions though, such as China or the US. Airlines based in these countries can operate both families because of their size and the huge market that they need to serve. Look at American or China Southern.

For more details, Zortan has a guide on how to run an airline realistically in the works, so that could help you understand what we mean by saying running a realistic airline.

A massive thank you to everyone who showed interest in the Voyager alliance, especially to dkdd and Charlie. Hopefully you guys didn't get too annoyed with our joke. As Anzatax and Zortan said, your applications/interest didn't go completely to waste. Stay tuned for more info !

Of course I'm not annoyed! - If anything I found it quite funny, you little pranksters! Big Grin Tongue

Yes, a huge thank you again to everyone for your interest, and we hope to be launching soon and showing you more about the way we play!
