‘We want to engage our guests, and we know of no better way than to showcase the countries we and our colleagues are proud to call home. Afrikan Airlines colleagues distraught; severe disruption looms due to political uncertainty.
Johannesburg, John Weston House July, 28 2018

‘Today is a bleak day for African Aviation’ said Saul Libermann President: Afrikan Airlines – Network at a global townhall conference with over 5,000 solid African Aviation professionals who now face an uncertain future after confirmation that political agreements could be reached forcing the airline to abort service on over 200 routes within days.

If an agreement can not be reached Afrikan Airlines intends to terminate service on all non-South African originating services on August 01 2018. Guests on affected flights may apply for a refund but are being advised to expect delays in processing. The termination of service is likely to lead to significant connectivity issues in Africa, and the airline calls upon new airlines to enter service to fill the gap; and will work with prospective airlines to offer code-share and through ticketing opportunities.

Afrikan Airlines is truly committed to it’s employees; and will guarantee every employee a place within the operation in South Africa, at the New Afrikan Airlines. The airline will provide employees not willing to relocate, employment finding opportunities.

Afrikan Airlines will like to take this opportunity to thank our guests for the continued support. It has been our honour to connect guests throughout Africa to the world and bring the world closer to Africa, sharing our hospitality and culture on each and every flight. As we transition to the New Afrikan Airlines, there will be changes for sure, but we’ll be ahead of the game. We’ll have a strong brand, over 200 new airplanes and committed workforce. We’ll be proud to take Southern Africa to the world and bring the world to Southern Africa. But, ultimately, it will be our customers who will make the final call on just how well we do.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard the new Afrikan airlines from August, 01.
