Airports & Aircraft Database

I don't mind looking at airports here in the UK if it's needed

Skifans had a good idea of creating a google doc for the airports database (and I suppose we can do the same for aircraft). I can actually save the google doc as a .csv file and then import that into the game database directly. This will allow everyone to work on the same file and should be much simpler than everyone having their own copy of the excel file.

Link to google sheet:

If you add an airport, the ID field is automatically calculated. Just double click the lower-right corner of the previous cell and it will auto-populate down the list.

The game can handle special characters, so feel free to use those in the airport names. Although google docs may not be able to display some of them properly... not sure. If it gets corrupted I can always fix it.

I think the UK is pretty covered already, but feel free to look at the map/google doc and add something if it's missing.

Thanks Unkown, just wanted to avoid having the same sort of problems which kept happening in Venture of lots of different and random posts across the site in slightly different format with many things getting duplicated. More general question, can anyone think of any uses for the closed airports in the data or should they just be removed, also, there are currently 7 airports in the data where no IATA code was available, most of these fall into the above category but for the 2 that don't (Wilkins Runway (ID 646) & Archerfield Airport (ID 817)), should these airports be removed, could they just carry a code of "none"?
Also, the map which Unkown has kindly copied into the first post won't update when you add airport through the link above, thats well beyond my knowledge of Google docs but if anyone knows how, feel free. Id imagine it will still give a good general indication for a while and don't mind updating it occasionally.

Hi guys, I'm very happy to see this game back Smile I have just added a few polish airports and my question is: why are there still closed airports? I hope it will be removed. Thanks you for all your effort! Smile

OK, so...when I double-click the lower right-hand corner, as instructed, instead of creating a new ID it just copies over the same one as is in the cell I double click. What am I doing wrong?
EDIT: what is the 'cargo' value measure in? Tons annually, I presume?

Not sure. I'll have to look at it when I get home tonight. You can also drag the lower right hand corner of the cell to copy the formula. ID really doesn't matter much as long as it's unique.

They will most likely be removed as there's no point for them in this game.

Also hi Yupiter! It's been a while.

Yeah I can see than now. I couldn't open the file yesterday.

I collected data of South America's airports.
Unknown 98, I made a separate list, what do you think?
