  Active flights
Posted by: Ryan97 - 04-22-2017, 03:58 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (5)

The active flights are not clearing once they have landed? Sorry for the extra work

Actually I don't know what's wrong with it. A flight that landed at 9:59 thismorning says it lands in 16 hours

  Creating routes
Posted by: Dokhu - 04-22-2017, 05:13 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (1)

When creating a new route the system should allow us to choose any aircraft that is in the full list of aircraft in te game and not necessarily of our own and then when the route is created the system must require that the same type of aircraft Chosed from the beginning be selected and then clicking on the Fly route button. So we can create any route to be selected at any moment in any aircraft of our own but the same type choosen when creating the route.

1 Route counts as 1 cycle.

So when you fly a route, the cycles and hours only update for the first leg and not subsequent legs.

Ex: Route with 3 legs:

1st Leg: 3 Hours
2nd Leg: 2 Hours
3rd Leg: 4 Hours

When route is done:

1 Cycle, 3 Hours

  Active Flights
Posted by: Unknown98 - 04-21-2017, 09:04 PM - Forum: Game Updates - Replies (4)

I've split the active flights page up to show flights that are currently active and en-route on top, and show flights that are scheduled but have not taken off yet on the bottom. Hopefully it should make it more clear what flights are active and what flights have been scheduled by one of your routes.

Let me know if you have any issues with it.

Hello.

Is it possible to store the created routes to be used whenever required?

Thanks.

  Same flight number

In the fleet management page we can see two different flights with the same number:

but after refreshing this page the flight numbers are changing:

  Departure board status
Posted by: Ryan97 - 04-21-2017, 04:45 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (7)

I like the fact that when you activate a route it automatically it appears on the Arrival and Departure boards at airports, but i was wondering if it was possible to not have the departure board say 'Departed at' before the flight has departed. I was wondering if this could be changed to 'Preparing' 'Boarding' or 'Check In'  maybe until the departure time comes around

  Auto Racing

Figured I would bring this thread back, saw it on the old forums the other night when I was looking through the archives.

This thread can be used to discuss races or any news related to auto racing. Formula 1, Nascar, Indycar, IMSA, LeMans... pretty much anything. I keep up with almost all forms of racing so, I will probably be fairly active here lol.

Looking forward to Bristol this weekend! If the weather cooperates.

  Passenger numbers

Once you have send an aircraft off on quick routes and you get the blue banner at the top the total passenger number has an extra 0 at the end

  Routes System is Live
Posted by: Unknown98 - 04-19-2017, 09:16 PM - Forum: Game Updates - Replies (67)

*Please read in it's entirety to avoid confusion*

The routes system is up and running - with one exception. As of right now, you can only schedule routes that are set to depart during the current day. If you try to schedule a route for tomorrow, you will receive a message telling you the route was not scheduled. So for example, right now as I type this the time is 15:32 at DFW. If I were to schedule a route departing out of DFW, it would have to leave after 15:33 but before 23:59. If I put the departure time as, say, 08:00, it will not work.

That restriction is only temporary of course, hopefully tomorrow or sometime soon I will have the system working for all routes no matter when they depart. Basically there's 2 different systems I have to go through, 1 for routes departing during the current day, and another for routes departing tomorrow - i.e., not the current day. I love you guys but I need more alcohol before I work on that 2nd system  Angel

So in order to fly a route you first need to create one. That system has been live for a few days now so hopefully you've had a chance to try it out. The system will not let you schedule a flight to depart before the "Ready at" time of the previous flight. It should be fairly straightforward. The only thing to be careful of is if you put custom departure times - i.e. if the "Ready at" time is 09:28 and you put in the box 09:30 - you need to carry those extra 2 minutes throughout the entire rest of the route. The "Ready at" times will not automatically change based on what you put in the drop down boxes. Eventually, one day, maybe they will - but for now they do not.

So once you create a route, go to Manage Airline -> Routes. You will see the route you created there. The [Image: delete.png] button deletes the route. Currently you are not able to edit routes. If you need to change something, just delete it and create a new route.

When you click "Fly Route", as long as everything checks out, each flight will be inserted into the database and you will be able to view them on your active flights page (Manage Airline -> Routes -> Active Flights). As of right now all flights will show up on the active flights page, even if they have not actually taken off yet. That will probably be changing soon, but for now that's how it is.

On your fleet page, you will see a new icon: [Image: active_3.png]
This indicates that the aircraft is preparing for the route. i.e., it has a route assigned to it, but the first leg of that route has not taken off yet. While the aircraft is in this status, you cannot do anything with the aircraft. So if your route departs at noon, and it's currently 8am and you click the "Fly Route" button, that aircraft will be locked into preparation status for the next 4 hours. Like with some of the other limitations, this is probably just temporary. But for now, it's how it has to be due to technical limitations. I like to do things 1 step at a time, that way if something breaks it I know what broke it and I can resolve the issue more quickly.

Each flight will then operate just as any other flight - taking off and landing automatically just like the quick flights do. When 1 flight finishes, the aircraft will show that it is in turnaround status, and the gate that it landed at will show in use - just as you'd expect.

Now, there is 1 way to mess up the departure times. When you create your route, the system uses the turnaround time that you have selected for your aircraft on the aircraft details page. If you increase the turnaround time of your aircraft, without re-creating the route (or, in the future, editing the route), there will no longer be enough time between flights (unless you intentionally left extra time between each flight). What will happen in that case is, the first leg of the route will be inserted into the database just fine - but the rest will fail. So you will have to use quick flights to re-position the aircraft back to where you want it. Later on what I want to do is implement delays into the system, so the flights will still insert - but each consecutive leg of the route will be affected by the delay of the prior leg, and so on.

So there you have it. Hopefully I did a better job of tying up loose ends than I did with the used aircraft market implementation. Test it out, let me know if you find any issues or if you have any suggestions to make it better. I know the UI is not necessarily the best when it comes to displaying the legs of each route on the Routes page. I'm still considering ways to make that better.
