A Forum Face to a Forum Name
Posted by: WhiteFright - 07-30-2018, 04:42 PM - Forum: Off-Topic - Replies (4)

So a few CA vets will remember this thread on the old forums, but for those who weren't around then or don't remember, there was a moderator on the CA forums by the name of bullwinkle who unfortunately passed away, even before my time on CA, and this thread was his legacy. I was reminiscing about CA the other day and I figured this would be a good way to carry on that legacy.

Also, as a side note, posting pictures on this thread is entirely optional and if you don't wish to post a picture of your face feel free to blur it or just not post a picture at all.

Here's me hugging my spirit animal! This picture is about a year and a half old so a bit has changed, but not a whole lot.

I guess there are some users who created their airlines and left it inactive for a long time, can unk clean up these airlines? Sometimes its so annoying to see someone who use the airline name or IATA code you wanted to use, but they actually left the game for a long time.

  Airlines/Aircraft/Airports You've Flown

Figured this would be a fun little thread to liven up this forum a little bit. I guess I'll start.

Airbus:
A319- United/Frontier
A320- United/Delta

ATR:
ATR 42- American Eagle (unsure of operator)

Boeing:
717-200- Hawaiian/Delta
737-300- United/Southwest
737-500- United
737-700- United/Southwest
737-800- United/Southwest/American
737-900- United
737 MAX 8- Southwest
757-200- United
757-300- United
767-300- United
767-400- United
777-200- American

Bombardier:
CRJ-200- Delta Connection
CRJ-700- Delta Connection/American Eagle
CRJ-900- Delta Connection/American Eagle
Dash 8 Q400- United Express (Continental Connection)

Cessna:
172N- Private Operator

Embraer:
ERJ-145: United Express/American Eagle

McDonnell Douglas:
MD-80: American

Saab:
340: United Express (flew on it before merger though so it was Continental Connection)

Airports:
CLL, IAH, HOU, PHX, MDW, ORD, CMH, LAS, LAX, HNL, LIH, LGA, DCA, EWR, BOS, MCO, TLH, ATL, MSY, CDG, MAD, SJU, NEV, SEA, STL, COS, MTJ, DFW, AUS, SAT, CLT, HUM, L83, adding SJC next month

My most flown route is PHX-HOU and the return on Southwest.
My most flown aircraft is probably the 737-800. If not that than it's the 737-700.

  wet lease and dry lease
Posted by: airlinemanage - 07-28-2018, 04:16 PM - Forum: Support - No Replies

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_lease

wiki tells what a wet lease and a dry lease is.

The difference between a dry lease and a wet lease is you dont need to train and pay for the crew, no maintenance cost, and insurance (ACMI) cost. However, a wet lease is more expensive than a dry lease. Is this feature going to be added?

  Political Restrictions
Posted by: boerviking - 07-28-2018, 02:31 AM - Forum: Support - Replies (5)

I appreciate the need for new political restrictions; but as a Southern African player this poses significant operational challenges.

  • Will technical stops be permitted under the new formula? We would like to serve the US - but most flights and ranges will require a technical stop
  • Will fifth-freedom routes be permitted. Southern Africa has lower than average load factors, and therefore some routes such as JNB-SYD-MEL are not economically viable or doable in their own right. Will fifth freedom routes be allowed? South African Airways, a real-life airline sells tickets such as ACC-IAD and Senegal -IAD for instance. Will we able to do such routes?
  • Will it eventually be possible to invest in subsidiaries in other countries?

Hi.

The economy plus class is going to be removed. Will the formula remain the same? If not, please show it us.

Thanks.

  NEW AIRPORT

Hi, I was adding a new airport and when it demanded the time zone if you check the map it says that Spain (not canary islands) has a time zone of UTC +1 but if you check the UTC time and then I check my current time it is UTC +2. Why is that? Which time should I use?

About ExpressLink
ExpressLink is a commuter airline operating a fleet of Cessna Grand Caravans from a number of bases throughout America. Thanks to the number of seats on our aircraft and low operating costs we are able to operate routes that no other carrier can and fly to airports that would otherwise receive little to no attention.
