  Game Status
Posted by: Unknown98 - 06-22-2018, 03:06 AM - Forum: Game Updates - Replies (6)

We have performed some server maintenance and also upgraded the database server to give us a bit more space. The game has grown to the point where an upgrade was needed for the site to continue functioning properly. Apologies for the delay in getting things back up and running but the timing of this was not great considering the situation in Japan and commitments that both sw889432 and I have with regards to work and life in general.

For now the game is still in maintenance mode; I need to do a few things, run some clean-up scripts and such before opening it back up to the public to ensure things are running smoothly and no or few errors are encountered along the way. All data is still there, the game was not reset (although I will give everybody a free reset if you would like to reset your airline). Plane locations may be off, because the server was inaccessible for such a long period of time, it prevented the takeoff/landing scripts from running, along with all the other routine scripts that run the game - so I'm sure that caused some things to get wonky.

I'll give ya'll an update when I have a better picture of when exactly the game will be available again. Sometime this weekend for sure, though.

  Avg Profit Margins
Posted by: gaff85 - 06-16-2018, 03:28 PM - Forum: Game Discussions - No Replies

Folks,

Can I ask a ball park figure on what players are seeing as aircraft profits?

I'm seeing anything from 1.5 mil to 5 mil for an A319
Then I'm seeing minus figures for regional aircraft and older classic B737's

Hi.

Despite the bugs, the game is getting better and better. I want to thank Unknown98 with my heart for their great effort and tell him to go ahead with the game. This must be real difficult and we are so annoying (At least me).

  Family Maintenance Costs
Posted by: Unknown98 - 06-12-2018, 08:24 PM - Forum: Game Updates - Replies (3)

The proposed weekly fixed cost for each aircraft family has been added to the aircraft research page. Take a look and provide feedback if you wish, let me know if you think the costs are too high/low.

Family Mx cost is based on the average size of all aircraft in the family, with a modifier added to account for the average age of all the aircraft in the family. So larger & older aircraft families will have higher weekly costs. I am in the process of implementing engine types to each aircraft in-game, which will lower family costs for prop aircraft as well as take into account # of engines when calculating the cost. Maintenance costs have been adjusted to account for # of engines (more engines = more expensive) and engine type (prop = cheaper, jet = normal price)

These costs have not been implemented yet, but I will post a game update once they are added to the weekly costs that are taken out each Friday at noon UTC.

About
Travel America was founded as Air Hawaii and operated as a purely Hawaiian carrier for some time before releasing a need for a large leisure-focused airline across the United States. We remain dedicated to our roots with over 50% of our nearly 100 aircraft based in Hawaii. We also operate a foreign hub in Bermuda flying there from various U.S. East Coast cities. Our second largest hub is in Las Vegas flying to destinations across the US and the world. We operate a modern fleet of mostly Boeing aircraft to provide our customers with the utmost comfort and safety.

Where we fly

Main Hub | Honolulu International Airport
Our main hub and HQ we are dedicated to Honolulu and being the dominant carrier in Hawaii even as we expand in other markets. Almost every type of plane we operate flys through here.

Hub | Las Vegas McCarren International Airport
Las Vegas is our second largest hub and base of operations for the contingent United States. We fly to a host of domestic destinations and international destinations from here. Mostly 747-8, 737, Q400, and E175 aircraft fly through here, with the occasional 787.

Foreign Hub | Bermuda L.F. Wade
Our lone foreign hub, Bermuda has a special place in our hearts as it was the first non-Hawaii aircraft base. Flights here strictly go to the United States. Only 717-200 aircraft fly through here.

Focus City | Manchester Boston Regional
Manchester Boston Regional is our testing ground for flights to Europe from small-secondary airports using 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Only 737 MAX 8 aircraft fly through here.
